"I took yoga lessons with Lauren for about a year, and would still be taking classes with her today if she hadn’t moved away. On the first day of class, Lauren had us lay down on our mats, close our eyes, focus on our breathing, feel our muscles contract and relax, and become aware of our bodies. She also started classes with positive affirmations that we would focus on for a minute or so while we relaxed and focused on our breathing. The first affirmation she shared with us has always stuck with me, maybe because it really embodied the journey she set us on.
